eBPF Summit 2027: Security Edition

event starts

26 Jan 2027

event ends

27 Jan 2027

location

Online

The eBPF Summit is back, and this year it’s all about security. Whether you’re new to eBPF or have been writing programs for years, come join us for the free virtual conference on what eBPF makes possible: seeing what’s really happening on your systems, detecting threats at runtime, and enforcing policy right where attacks happen.

eBPF Summit: Security Edition is a half-day virtual event for security engineers, platform and SRE teams, researchers, and kernel and project developers. Topic will span runtime enforcement, network security, threat research, and the security of eBPF itself.

You’ll find everything from technical deep dives and hands-on CTF challenges to big-picture talks on where eBPF security is heading. Bring your questions, share what you’ve learned, and leave with new ways to defend what you run.

The CFP is open until November 24 (11:59 PM UTC). We want talks about how you use eBPF and open source eBPF projects to secure real systems. You don’t need to write raw eBPF to speak. Many of our speakers use it through projects such as Cilium and Tetragon and we welcome contributors, researchers, and newcomers too.

Formats

20-minute sessions: Sessions will run 15 minutes + 5 minutes for Q&A, will be pre-recorded and streamed during the summit, with the speaker joining for Q&A. Speakers must be available on January 27.

5-minute lightning talks: Lightning talks will be 5 minutes with Q&A happening async.

Tell us in your submission which you can do. The committee may place accepted talks in either format, so let us know if you can only do one.

Select talks will also be available on demand in the event platform, and talk recordings will be made publicly available after the event.

Topics

  • Runtime security and enforcement, including LSM-BPF and policy as code
  • Network security: network policy, encryption, zero trust, DDoS and XDP filtering
  • Securing eBPF itself: the verifier, program signing, privilege model, supply chain
  • Offensive research: eBPF rootkits and malware, evasion, detection
  • Kubernetes and cloud-native security: container escape, multi-tenancy, audit, and compliance
  • End-user stories: incidents, rollouts, what went wrong, and how you fixed it
  • Getting started with eBPF for security
  • Securing AI workloads and agents

Ground rules

This is an open source, vendor-neutral conference. Submit only talks that cover open source code. We won’t accept pitches for proprietary products. If your talk covers a vulnerability, confirm that the maintainers have been notified before you submit.
