"Fabric Forward" is a hands-on, on-campus workshop designed for students and educators across academic backgrounds, focusing on the practical use of Microsoft Fabric tools including Power BI, Dataflows, Pipelines, and Copilot.


Hosted by Jamia Hamdard University in collaboration with the Microsoft Fabric User Group – Uttar Pradesh Power BI Club, this workshop offers a unique opportunity to explore real-world applications of modern data tools in academic, research, and project-based settings.


Participants will engage in guided learning with Microsoft-certified experts, work with real datasets, and develop data-driven projects in a highly interactive format. The event also includes networking opportunities, academic integration insights, and recognition for active participants.

We are inviting speakers to submit sessions that align with the core mission of this event—bridging the gap between academic learning and modern data technology. Speakers should focus on delivering hands-on, demo-driven content that is accessible and impactful for students and educators.


Acceptable Session Topics Include:

  • Using Power BI for academic and research reporting
  • Automating educational workflows with Dataflows and Pipelines
  • Enhancing academic productivity with Microsoft Copilot
  • Real-world use of Microsoft Fabric in educational institutions
  • Data ethics and governance in academia
  • Microsoft Fabric for final year projects or thesis support
  • Creating research dashboards and student portfolio visualizations.

Session Formats Accepted:

  • Lightning Talks (10–15 minutes)
  • Standard Talks (20–30 minutes)
  • Hands-On Workshops (45–60 minutes)
  • Project Demonstrations or Use Case Showcases
  • Panel Discussions (with educators, professionals, or researchers).

  • Undergraduate and graduate students
  • Faculty and research staff
  • Technical support teams in academic institutions
  • Data-curious educators and academic technologists


Speaker Expectations:

  • Content should be practical, demo-focused, and tailored to academic or research applications.
  • Presentations must avoid marketing content and should focus on community learning.
  • Presenters are required to submit their final slides five days prior to the event.
  • Bilingual delivery (English + Hindi/Urdu) is permitted if audience appropriate.
  • Co-presenters are allowed but must be declared in the submission.
