Fast Flow Conf UK 2025 (Platform Engineering Edition)

event starts

14 Oct 2025

event ends

15 Oct 2025

location

CodeNode, 10 South Place, London EC2M 7EB London, United Kingdom

Now in its third year, FastFlowConf (FFC) is a practitioner led event that will focus on the approach and methodologies described in Team Topologies, by Matthew Skelton and Manuel Pais. Our mission is to bring together practitioners, experts, and enthusiastic beginners to share knowledge and ideas, as well as to grow the community.

The event will be a two day, multi-track event with curated content including case studies and real-world, warts-and-all experiences! This is a volunteer-led event, run by community volunteers for the community.

As well as sharing practitioners’ real experiences, emerging practice and new research in the study of Team Topologies and flow, in response to a need identified by the community we are introducing a dedicated Platform Engineering Track.

We had feedback that creating a community-first space for the technical implementation of Platforms as a Product and Platform Groups in collaboration with those thinking about broader Team Topologies and interactions would meet a growing need. We hope that the serendipitous interaction of practitioners across tracks and open spaces will lead to a deeper understanding, experience sharing and positive impact.

Join us on 14–15 October 2025 at CodeNode, London for two days of learning, community, and real-world insights on Team Topologies, Platform Engineering and the fast flow of value.

Do you have a groundbreaking idea, a revolutionary project, an inspiring story, or some interesting thoughts you want to share with the world? The stage could be yours!

We're on the lookout for interesting ideas and fresh perspectives from everyone in the community.

We want to hear all voices, including those that may speak less frequently at similar events; whether you’re in a field not typically thought of as a technology field, you’re in a large, traditional organisation, or you’re the only person at your organisation with your background, we are interested in your unique experience.

And if you are a first time speaker and/or from an under-represented group in technology, we are happy to provide support to help you submit and deliver your talk. We have volunteers who can provide mentoring and coaching if you want it!

What topics will be covered in this edition of Fast Flow Conf?

The conference will continue to lead the way in sharing practitioners’ real experiences, emerging practice and new research in the study of Team Topologies and flow. We’ve had 3 sell-out editions to date, so this winning formula remains.

As outlined in the book there are a large number of topics which fall under Team Topologies and fast flow. Don't forget, we are practitioner-focused and you can also submit more than one idea.

Suggested areas of interest and previous events have covered the following areas:

  • Getting started (with Team Topologies & fast flow)
  • Team types / team structures, Enabling teams, Platforms teams, Complicated sub-system teams
  • Team cognitive load, Sensing and evolving, Organisational dynamics, Conway's Law
  • Modes of interaction, Team APIs, Culture / ways of working, Unblocking flow
  • User Needs Mapping, Independent Service Heuristics, Defining boundaries
  • Remote interactions
  • Splitting the monolith, Architecture, Technology enabling fast flow
  • Business & strategy, Leadership, Change Management for Team Topologies & fast flow
  • Case studies & examples
  • The future of Team Topologies & fast flow

The addition of a dedicated Platform Engineering track will explore the technical approaches and experience reports of those realising the promise of effective team topologies and interactions.

We invite proposals that include deep dives into platform engineering case studies, practical strategies for measuring and maturing platform capabilities, and innovative approaches to improving golden paths. Join Platform Engineers, Product Managers, Solutions Architects, and cloud-native stakeholders as we share lessons learned in building and managing platforms.

The Platform Engineering Track topics we ask for talks on are:

  • Platform team composition
  • Platform engineering case studies
  • Improving platform maturity
  • Platform adoption stories
  • Building platforms for Day 2 and beyond
  • Using platforms to drive developer experience
  • Platform product management practices
  • Measuring platform success
  • Designing paved paths
  • Examples of platform enablement & evangelism

Our speaking slots are split into 30 minute sessions.
