There are Figma users in every part of the world and in every part of an organization. The Config 2022 agenda aims to celebrate and reflect this diversity through the stories we share. We will hear from designers, design systems practitioners, developers, engineers, and product managers—to name a few.

ABOUT THE CONFERENCE

We know it's our responsibility to create a conference that’s inclusive, safe, and represents everyone, especially people from traditionally underrepresented communities. As part of the submission process, we have included optional questions to help us ensure our lineup is inclusive and representative of our community.
SPEAKER HONORARIUM
All breakout sessions will receive the same honorarium of $2,000. If there is more than one speaker, we’re happy to split the honorarium. If the speaker(s) can’t accept an honorarium, we are able to donate $2,000 to a charity of the speaker(s) choice.
Attending the conference will be free for speakers and attendees.
APPLICATION TIMELINE + SELECTION PROCESS
A group of Figma employees from different departments, backgrounds, and expertise will review all submissions. Each talk will be rated anonymously on the same criteria. Check out the FAQ to learn more.

SPEAKER FAQ:
1. What type of content are you looking for? Is there a theme? At Config, we want to tell the stories of our entire community - wherever they may be. We want to hear from designers, design systems practitioners, developers, engineers, product managers, and cross-functional partners who use Figma. We’re looking for small local companies, large global enterprises, and everyone in between.
Here are some ideas to get your brainstorm started:
2. What language can the content be in? We ask that you submit your talk proposal in English. If you’d like to present your talk in an additional language, you’ll have a chance to note that in your application. We will do our best to include multiple languages as part of the Config agenda. As always, we will provide captioning and translation of talks as much as possible.
3. Is previous speaking experience required? Absolutely not, first time speakers welcome and encouraged! Have questions before submitting? Feel free to ask us at community@figma.com.
4. What makes a good submission? Submissions should be between 200-400 words long. We’ll look at submissions using these criteria:
We’ll reject submissions that are incongruent with our Code of Conduct or contain material that is vague, inauthentic, or plagiarized.
6. How long should my session be? Each session will be 20 minutes in length.
7. Can I present with someone else? Absolutely! We ask that sessions have no more than 3 presenters total.
8. If selected, what is the commitment? We expect the total time commitment to be 6-7 hours. Our team is here to help every step of the way. We will touch base 3-4 times to build out your presentation and get ready for your session. Config 2022 will be a virtual event, we’ll work with speakers to pre-record their sessions to ensure we have no technical difficulties day of.
