Diversity and inclusion is a big initiative for us in GDG Melbourne. In partnership with Women Techmakers Melbourne we will have a special panel discussion at the event .

We also want to support our attendees who are experiencing hardship. If you need to access a reduced price ticket in order to attend please reach out to one of the GDG Melbourne organisers on the GDG Slack to obtain a discount code.

About WTM Melbourne

Google’s Women Techmakers program provides visibility, community, and resources for women in technology. WTM Melbourne work in strong partnership with GDG Melbourne to support female and gender diverse people in technology. 

What is Dev Fest? 

DevFest are one day conferences are run all over the globe by GDG (Google Developer Group) communities every year. DevFest is focused on community building and learning about Google’s technologies. 

GDG Melbourne has been running DevFest conferences in Melbourne since 2017.

Come and speak at GDG Melbourne Devfest 2023!

We have opportunities for longer 30 minute talks and shorter 10 minute lightning talks on a variety of technical topics such as Android, Kotlin, Flutter, Google Cloud, Firebase, AI/ML, VR/AR or other Google technologies. We also would like to welcome non-technical, diversity or industry related talks as well.  You don't have to be an experienced speaker to speak at Devfest, we offer (limited) speaker mentoring. 


Diversity and inclusion is a big initiative for us in GDG Melbourne. In partnership with Women Techmakers Melbourne we will have a special panel discussion at the event. If you would like to be part of this panel (topic TBD), please email us at hello.gdgmelbourne@gmail.com or reach out to one of the organising team on Slack. 


  • You can use your own device to present at the event, we will use Zoom to record and stream to the screen so please make sure you have that installed and enabled.
  • Please share your presentation slides in Google Slides/Keynote/Powerpoint/PDF format before 30th September. Please let us know if you would need speaker notes for reference. This is not a hard stop date, this is just to provide a backup in case of technical malfunction.

  • We will be recording the event and will upload to YouTube after the event. We will not be live streaming, please select the checkbox in the session details if you do not want your presentation uploaded to YouTube.
  • Your presentation should be clear and concise, and should not exceed the allotted time.
  • Please avoid using copyrighted material in your presentation unless you have obtained the necessary permissions.
  • We will have a speaker green room at the event if you need to leave your bag or device. Note, this won't be locked.
