Devfest 2026 is back! Join us for a full day of learning, connection and inspiration as we bring together speakers from across the tech community to share ideas, real world experiences and the latest technologies. With multiple tracks featuring technical and non-technical sessions, there's something for everyone, all as part of a welcoming conference run by developers, for developers, and led by GDG Melbourne.

At its core, Devfest is about bringing the community together. It's an opportunity to connect with fellow developers, exchange ideas, discover new perspectives and learn from one another. Whether you're just starting out or have years of experience, you'll leave with new knowledge, new connections and fresh inspiration.

At GDG Melbourne, diversity and inclusion are central to everything we do. In partnership with Women Techmakers Melbourne, we strive to create an inclusive environment where all voices are heard and valued.

If the ticket price would genuinely prevent you from attending due to financial circumstances, please contact the GDG Melbourne organising team on the GDG Slack and we will do our best to help where we can (keep an eye out for special discounts on early bird tickets as these are the best way to obtain a cheaper ticket).

GDG Melbourne is a passionate, not-for-profit community group of developers interested in Android and other Google-related technologies, such as AI, Gemini, Kotlin, Flutter, Firebase, Assistant, ML, Android XR, Wearables, design and IoT. We aim to provide a friendly and welcoming environment for our event attendees regardless of their background. 

About WTM Melbourne

Google’s Women Techmakers program provides visibility, community, and resources for women in technology. WTM Melbourne work in strong partnership with GDG Melbourne to support female and gender diverse people in technology. 

What is Devfest? 

Devfest are one day conferences are run all over the globe by GDG (Google Developer Group) communities every year. Devfest is focused on community building and learning about Google’s technologies. 

GDG Melbourne has been running Devfest conferences in Melbourne since 2017.

Come and speak at GDG Melbourne Devfest 2026!

We have opportunities for longer 30 minute talks and shorter 10 minute lightning talks on a variety of technical topics such as AI, Gemini Android, Kotlin, Flutter, Google Cloud, Firebase, ML, Android XR or other Google technologies. We also welcome talks on career development, developer experience, diversity and inclusion, community, leadership, and other industry-related topics. You don't have to be an experienced speaker to speak at Devfest, we offer (limited) speaker mentoring. 

  • You can use your own device to present at the event. A HDMI connection will be available to connect to the venue screens.
  • Please share your presentation slides in Google Slides/Keynote/Powerpoint/PDF format before 30th September. Please let us know if you would need speaker notes for reference. This is not a hard stop date, this is just to provide a backup in case of technical malfunction. You can do this via the field on Sessionize or send via email to hello.gdgmelbourne@gmail.com 
  • We may record the sessions at this year's event, subject to venue capabilities. If recording is available, presentations will be uploaded on our YouTube channel after the event. If you would prefer your talk not to be recorded, please indicate this in your Sessionize submission.
  • Your presentation should be clear and concise, and should not exceed the allotted time.
  • Please avoid using copyrighted material in your presentation unless you have obtained the necessary permissions.
  • We will have a speaker green room at the event if you need to leave your bag or device. Note, this won't be locked. 

Please note, GDG Melbourne would not be able to provide any travel support for the event.
