Goatmire Elixir is a small, single-track Elixir event.
Themes for this conference are depths, distortions and delights. Interpret widely.
For Goatmire Elixir the topics can be anything related to Elixir.
For NervesConf EU the topics should be related to Nerves or embedded Elixir.
If you are uncertain about fit, do submit but also reach out to an organizer and we can always clarify and discuss.
We will not be accepting talks that are "Update on project X" and essentially presenting a changelog. But we are fine with talks that involve new features and either how they were built or what they allow you to do.
Teach something, tell a story, blow some minds or show your work.
The space for ideas is open-ended, the venue provides undivided attention. What do you want to share?
A note on technical depth
If you are weighing between technical depth and giving an overview of a topic. Go deeper and more focused. We will ensure there is a good mix. We know from feedback and other events that there is never too much deep technical material. Don't hold back. Don't spend most of your time providing an introduction unless that is the point of your talk.
A note on presentational flair
Goatmire has a bit of a reputation for unusual presentations and style. You do not have to have some outlandish plan. Not everyone has a family history in puppeteering. Not everyone's topic is a filming drone. The most useful and beneficial talks are not necessarily that glamorous.
If you do have an outlandish plan, do reach out as well as submitting.
A note on you
You are more than enough. Whether you are a seasoned speaker or a newbie, we want your specific submission. We won't be able to accept every submission in the end. But we'll be thrilled to consider them all. If you believe something is disqualifying you from submitting or are putting you off from the idea you are now obligated* to contact lars@goatmire.com so we know what's up.
* not actually obligated, but we really would appreciate it
