HackGDL is a technical event focused on cybersecurity, hacking and breaking all kind of things. It brings together professionals, enthusiasts, and curious minds to explore the latest trends, techniques, and challenges in the field of information security. The event aims to foster learning, collaboration, and innovation in a friendly and engaging atmosphere, as well as have a ton of fun, socialize, and build relationships and community.
Do you have something you'd like to share with the community? Our Call for Papers is open for talks, workshops, villages, and other activities. We're looking for innovative proposals of various technical levels and original ideas. The more detailed you describe your proposal, the better. Important dates:
Talks (In-Person)
We're looking for presentations on breaking various systems & technologies, as well as other relevant cybersecurity topics. We value original, new and bold presentations. Presentations should last between 30 to 40 minutes, with 10 minutes for Q&A afterwards. There won't be internet access, so any technical demos should be pre-recorded.
Although our focus is on offensive security, we also welcome presentations on other relevant security topics.
We don't accept commercial presentations.
Workshops (In-Person)
Workshops offer hands-on training on a specific topic. They can last up to 2 hours, with space for up to 30 attendees. It's recommended to plan the workshop with minimal internet use.
Pueblitos Mágicos [aka Villages] (In-Person)
Villages are interactive spaces where attendees can explore specific topics in a hands-on environment. They provide opportunities for learning and experimenting. Villages can include specialized equipment, challenges, or demonstrations related to various aspects of hacking and cybersecurity. Villages are expected to run the whole day. We do not provide an stage for each village, but we give you your own space and basic materials like chairs and tables to set it up. If you need anything specific, please let us know. Villages' teams are limited to 10 persons and you must include the name of all the team members in your application.
Activities
We're looking for social, fun, random, and original activities that don't fit into the above categories. These can take place during HackGDL or during the party.
Tips for your participation
- Make sure your talk or workshop is relevant to the event, and that you've read all the information provided.
- Sell yourself and your presentation. Why is this topic essential for HackGDL, and why are you the right person to present it?
- Please provide enough details in the 'Session Description' section so we can understand and evaluate your proposal. Sadly, most of the papers we reject is because they did no have enough information to be evaluated.
- Use the 'Notes to Organizer' section to give us more information about your participation. If you have any specific requirements or limitations, let us know here.
- The photo you provide will be used alongside your biography in promotional materials, website, etc.
- HackGDL is currently unable to cover travel expenses or provide financial support for speakers.
