IndabaX is a locally organised Indaba (i.e., gathering) that aims to enhance knowledge and build capacity in machine learning and artificial intelligence across individual countries in Africa.
The theme for this year's discourse revolves around "AI-Driven Innovations for the Digital Economy in Nigeria." With the rapid evolution of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies, the landscape of the digital economy is undergoing profound transformations. These innovations have the potential to revolutionize various sectors, including finance, healthcare, agriculture, and education, among others. However, amidst these advancements, it's crucial to ensure that AI-driven solutions remain focused on enhancing the human experience and contributing positively to societal progress.
As AI becomes increasingly integrated into our daily lives and economic systems, there arises a pertinent question: How can we leverage AI-driven innovations to foster inclusive growth and empower individuals within the digital economy? Unlike traditional approaches where technology may seem distant and opaque, the key lies in placing human values, needs, and experiences at the forefront of AI development and deployment.
We welcome submissions from the general public. These could be any of:
It's okay if this is your first time speaking or presenting at a conference, we all have a first time.
Topic Ideas
If you don't know what topics to pick, please consider some of the following:
Submission Guidelines
Research papers must be original and on topics at the intersection of AI/ML and health, education, security, privacy, or other related areas.
Paper submissions should be in double-column ACM format (excluding the bibliography and well-marked appendices) and not more than 12 pages.
Submissions must be in English and properly anonymized (non-identifying information in datasets).
All accepted Abstract submissions will be presented at the workshop in a poster session.

It is against this background that we call for short proposals (2000–3000 words) that will kick-start educational conversations around AI and inform policy. Your proposal could be for a paper, presentation, workshop, or a poster presentation.
The paper should clearly state the research goals, elaborate on the methods used, and discuss the results in order to allow the scientific committee to assess their quality. Ongoing research is not welcome, as we expect a clear indication of the research's conclusions. Please note that only original contributions will be considered for presentation at the conference.
Accommodation will be provided at the venue for confirmed speakers.
