[NOTE] The date is only preliminary. We are targeting April 2025., but need to confirm with the venue and others involved.
We had a blast on the two previous INIT conferences, and we are coming back! As a group of volunteers and enthusiasts, we are proud of the past achievements, and putting Banja Luka on the IT/Dev community map.
Both Init 2019 and 2022 had 500+ attendees and 20+ speakers from various countries and became the largest event of that type in Banja Luka. We are keeping the similar format, but aiming for more content, with an additional advanced track, and workshops the day before. Thanks for joining us on this journey!
Thanks for your interest in submitting a talk for Init 2024 conference! Init is a developer conference held in Banja Luka, Bosnia and Herzegovina.
INIT 2024 is a one-day event with 20+ planned sessions organized into three tracks. We encourage you to submit more than one talk (please no more than four of your best ones), but we will select a maximum of one talk per speaker. The length of a single talk is 45 minutes, so bear that in mind when submitting.
Same as on the last conference, we are also hosting workshops, the day before. We plan to have one full-day workshop or two half-day workshops, depending on your submissions.
For the two main tracks, we will be favoring topics that are interesting to a broader range of audiences and not tightly related to a specific platform or technology. The third track will be dedicated to more advanced talks, with limited audience. Please, do not submit promotional talks. The English language is the default for all talks.
If you want to submit a workshop topic, you will have an option to select the workshop length. The length can be a full day (up to 8 hours), half a day (up to 4 hours), or flexible (i.e., from 3 to 8 hours), in which case you will give us the option to fit your workshop to available time slots. The workshops will be held a day before. The tickets for workshop are bought separately, and the earnings are shared 50/50 between speakers and organizers.
Topic suggestions include:
All speakers must agree to our Code of Conduct to be available to speak. You can read the Code of Conduct here: https://github.com/init-conference/codeofconduct.
Speaker benefits include:
[1] For speakers who live more than 50 km away from Banja Luka
Note that we are a small, non-profit conference, with a limited budget, so we would very much appreciate it if your employer can cover the travel (and potentially the accommodation) expenses. Cross-ocean or other expensive flights will most likely be declined.
