About IRTC
IRTC, the “International Round Table on Materials Criticality” is a project established in 2018 and funded by EIT RawMaterials. IRTC consists of leading international experts in material criticality discussing different perspectives and requirements of criticality assessments, impacts of criticality, and ways to mitigate it. The project bridges academic expertise, industry practice, and policy-making, and engages with stakeholders around the world.

Are you as a practitioner or researcher in the field interested in sharing your work on critical raw materials and contributing to the conference program? We welcome you to submit an abstract proposal for a 15-minute presentation or for a poster for the main hall exhibition!
The abstract proposal (referred to as "session" in the submission software) should include the abstract title ("session title") and a description of max. 3000 characters ("session description"), keywords, the preferred presentation format, the name and affiliation of the presenting author ("speaker"), and of the co-authors of the abstract. Submitted abstract proposals will be evaluated by the Session Chairs.
Furthermore, the Session Chairs, together with the Special Issue Editorial Team, will select the most novel contributions for publication in a special issue of the journal Mineral Economics.
Session themes
Please make sure to submit an abstract proposal that fits in one of the Session themes as defined by the Organization Committee and Scientific Committee. Metals are the main raw materials of interest, but contributions about critical industrial minerals and bio-based materials are welcomed as well! A detailed description of each session theme can be found at https://irtc.info/irtc-2025/.
If you experience any technical problems during the submission of your abstract, please contact the IRTC organizers by email (speakers@irtc.info).
By submitting the abstract you agree that the personal data shown on this page is shared with the organizers of IRTC25. The organizers may share or use (part or all of) your abstract and personal data publicly as (but not limited to) a part of an event schedule.
