It’s official: the wait is over! As is our proud tradition, we are coming together for IWD 2026, hosted by WTM Kisii. This year, we are gathering onsite in Kisii to celebrate, innovate, and challenge the status quo.

Since 2013, the Women Techmakers team has convened over 200 global events across 52 countries annually to drive visibility, community, and resources for women in technology in honor of International Women’s Day (IWD), and this year won’t be different.

IWD Kisii will bring together people shaping the future of AI/ML, Web, Android, IoT, Cloud, Entrepreneurship, and Cybersecurity for a day of sessions and networking. We will be featuring amazing speakers with vast knowledge and experience in their fields, presenting on exciting topics and amazing experiences.

Thank you so much for your interest in speaking at IWD 2026. This year, we are moving beyond the status quo with our theme #BreakThePattern.

Hosted onsite in Kisii on 21st March 2026, this event will bring together tech enthusiasts from across the region to challenge traditional boundaries and build a more inclusive future.


💡 What We Are Looking For

  • We are looking for both technical and non-technical talks from speakers with experience within the tech space
  • You can submit a 30-minute talk or a workshop. Feel free to submit multiple topics via separate forms; we will select the one that best fits our program.

📍 Important Logistics

  1. Onsite Event: This is an in-person event held in Kisii.
  2. Community-Led: As we are a nonprofit community, please note that we cannot provide support for transport or accommodation. Speakers will need to facilitate their own travel to the venue.


🚫 Proposals We Won’t Accept

❌ Sales Pitches: No pitching or selling products/companies. It’s fine to mention where you work, but the focus must be on knowledge sharing.

❌ Plagiarism: We value original ideas and authentic voices.
