International Women’s Day (IWD) occurs on March 8th every year. It marks a moment to celebrate and provide visibility for the incredible contributions of women around the world and is a call to action for accelerating gender parity.
As an extension, Women Techmakers, Mt Kenya, will be hosting its own IWD event to celebrate women in the STEM field around the Mt Kenya region.
This event brings together and recognizes women in technology through speakers, workshops, and the opportunity to connect with fellow industry professionals.
Our goal is to empower women in technology by creating affirming and uplifting spaces — in-person and virtually.

The event will take place on the 23rd of March 2024 from 8 AM - 4 PM.
The event will focus on the revolutionary impact of Artificial Intelligence (AI) across various domains of development and design.
Do you have a compelling story to tell about how AI has enhanced your day-to-day workflows and elevated your projects to new heights? We want to hear from you! Our event is dedicated to exploring the practical applications of AI tools and techniques, and we're seeking speakers who can provide firsthand accounts of their experiences harnessing AI in their respective fields;
We invite you to submit talk proposals that showcase:
- Real-world Applications: Share your experiences of integrating AI into Mobile Development, Web Development, Data Science, Cloud Computing, UI/UX Design, Machine Learning, and other relevant areas.
- Impactful Demos: Prepare engaging demonstrations that illustrate the functionalities and capabilities of the AI tools you utilize in your projects.
- Day-to-Day Enhancements: Highlight how AI has improved efficiency, productivity, and overall effectiveness in your day-to-day tasks and project workflows.
Whether you're a seasoned professional, an emerging talent, or an enthusiastic innovator, we encourage you to contribute your unique perspective to our event. You can submit a 15 to 20 minutes workshop or multiple talks and we will pick what best suits our event.
