Jfokus is a general topics conference for a developer and tech audience. Jfokus conference, set to take place on February 5-7, 2024, at Stockholm Waterfront Congress Centre.
Jokus is known for its great program and world class speakers.The past year had demonstrated the strength of the community, as evidenced by our sold-out conference with ~2000 attendees.
As we prepare for Jfokus 2024, we are excited to share new trends and technologies that will shape the future of the industry. Our focus remains on Java, the JVM platform, and open-source technologies. However, our program will include cutting-edge topics such as AI, Machine Learning, Big Data, Cloud, Web/HTML5, Agile, NoSQL, DevOps, and emerging languages.
By embracing these trends, we aim to deliver an immersive and diverse experience for our attendees.
Jfokus is three days with six parallell tracks includning Hands-on-Lab, deep dive session, 45 minute technical sessions and 15 lightning talks

Deep Dive, (5 February 2024)
Deep dive consists of half day sessions (3,5 hours incl breaks) face forward presentations with slides and demos for larger audiences (30-110 attendees).
Hands-on-labs (HOL), (5 February 2024)
for smaller audiences (12-30 attendees).
VM Tech Summit, (TBD for 2024)
Jfokus VM Tech Summit is an open technical collaboration among language designers, compiler writers, tool builders, runtime engineers, and VM architects. We welcome VM developers and similar technologies to speak on their runtime, VM, or language of choice. Presentation slots are 45 minutes including 5 minutes for questions.
Regular conference days, (6-7 February 2024)
Presentation slots are 45 minutes including 5 minutes for questions (e.g. actual presentation should be ~40 minutes). Lightning talks are ~10 minutes.
Commercial policy
Sessions are not to be used by individuals marketing or selling products, consulting, or other services. This policy does not prevent product users from referring to specific commercial products, nor does it prevent user roundtable discussions regarding specific products, but the focus on the presentation should not be product related.
The last day for submitting proposals is 30 September!
We will start selecting talks as soon as we get good proposals. You will maximize your chance for a speaking slot in February if you submit early. The program committee will start evaluating proposals 1 October.
Travel expenses
Travel expenses could be covered for some cases, but normally not. We have a limited budget for travel expenses evaluated on a case by case basis. If travel expenses is essential for you to be able to speak at Jfokus, please state budget and if this is a show stopper for you in the comment.
We will get back to you as soon as we have decided which presentations that will be accepted for Jfokus.
