Real-Time Data Takes Center Stage

Modern business happens in real time. Today’s competitive edge comes from getting fresh and consistent data to the right place, in the right format, at the right time to build data products faster and push use case utility and innovation to new heights. Real time data streaming unlocks the full value of all data within an organization—no matter where it resides. The value that data streaming adds to app and data product production and go-to-market velocity is undeniable.

Get Up to Speed on Data Streaming at Kafka Summit London

Join developers, architects, data engineers, DevOps professionals, and software thought leaders at the premier event for the Apache Kafka® community at Kafka Summit 2024 in London. Hear best practices, learn how to build next-generation systems, and take deep dives into how Kafka and the latest data streaming technologies—including cloud-native event streaming services and generative AI—are influencing what’s new and next in the ever-widening world of data streaming.

With data volume growing at breakneck speed, the ability to harness it in real time is the key to driving greater business insight and accelerating innovation. Kafka Summit is where everything Kafka comes together, so make it a priority to attend Kafka Summit 2024.

Do you have a great Kafka story to share?

Speaking at Kafka Summit is a great way to connect with hundreds of your peers, become more involved in the Kafka community, and have a public platform for you to share your story of the future of streaming platforms.

Abstract submissions

We are looking for your most interesting, most informative, most advanced, and most generally applicable talks on Apache Kafka® and the tools, technologies, and techniques in the Kafka ecosystem as well as use cases from the wider data streaming world. Winning submissions will make it clear that you understand how to take your knowledge and experience and transfer it to Kafka Summit attendees. For example:

  • A deep dive into a recent Kafka feature or a KIP under development
  • Use Cases and Patterns you have developed while building event-driven systems
  • Development techniques, libraries, and debugging techniques that have helped you build event-driven systems
  • An experience report about the Kafka-based system you’ve built, including takeaways that the audience can put into practice right away
  • Beginner-level introductions to Kafka, Connect, the Streams API, and other ecosystem tools
  • Specific explanations of how Kafka and stream processing enabled you to build a solution unique to your industry, and applicable to others with similar use cases

Submit fresh ideas, unique perspectives, and thought-provoking discussions that will give our attendees a good time and send them home better-informed and more capable than they came. So do your best to stand out by submitting relevant, engaging, creative, and entertaining proposals. You must submit a separate entry for each topic.

Please note: product pitches, whether explicit or thinly-disguised, are unlikely to get selected.

New at Kafka Summit London 2024

We’re excited to announce that we’re expanding the agenda of Kafka Summit London 2024 with a new track and content option. In addition to the topics listed above, we’d also like to encourage you to submit sessions with the following in mind:

The Current Track at Kafka Summit: Kafka doesn’t operate in a vacuum, so we want to hear about the systems and applications that you’re building with Kafka and other data streaming technologies such as Apache Flink, Apache Spark, Apache Beam, etc. We’re adding an additional track of content to Kafka Summit to showcase these technologies and use cases. For example:

  • Beginner-level introductions
  • Deep dives into a technology's internals or the specifics of an upcoming or new improvement project
  • Development techniques, tools, and libraries that have helped you to embrace data streaming
  • Use cases involving real-time, streaming applications, analytics, machine learning, observability, and more

To be considered for the Current Track, please select “Current Track at Kafka Summit” as your submission tag.

Panels: Sometimes the best way to share information is to have a discussion with a variety of opinions and perspectives, so we’re including panels in this year’s Call for Papers. Submit your proposed topic along with the panelists you plan to include in the discussion in the body of the submission. Note that your proposed panelists must be representative of the diverse makeup of the data streaming community; any homogeneous panels will not be accepted.

  2. Breakout Session: 45 minute presentation (including 5-10 mins Q&A, up to 2 speakers)
