The Kansas City Developer Conference looks to offer sessions covering topics across the entire spectrum of software design, development, and delivery. Whatever your passion, if it relates to technology professionals, then we may have a spot for you at the conference.

We were proud to have been one of the first in-person events to return to the Developer Community last year, welcoming over 1000 people safely in September of 2020. Now we look forward to a full-fledged return to KCDC glory. In prior years, we have welcomed upwards of 2200 individuals and cannot wait to serve that many people again. Now entering our fourteenth year, we are one of the premier community-driven software conferences around.

The KCDC EXPERIENCE in 2022

The Kansas City Developer Conference is an IN-PERSON EVENT held at the Kansas City Convention Center. The schedule is as follows:

Mon., August 8th, 2022 – Conference Day

Tues., August 9th, 2022 – Conference Day

Wed., August 10th, 2022 – Post-Conference Workshops

EVENT HEALTH GUIDE

While we held a safe 2021 event and hope COVID-19 outbreaks will reduce, KCDC will continue to comply with local city and state health guidelines for large events. All speakers and attendees will be kept aware of what to expect as the date gets closer. To keep aware of any policy changes please visit the City of Kansas City Coronavirus Health Site.

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

We accept submissions for one-hour standard breakout sessions, as well as for 4-hour and 8-hour hands-on workshops.

To maximize the likelihood of your selection to present at KCDC 2022, please keep the following important information in mind:

• Speakers are often asked to present two talks during the event.
  
  
• We look for speakers with a passion for teaching their areas of expertise. To that end, while not a hard-and-fast rule, we encourage you to be more specialists than generalists in your submissions.
  
  
• For both of these reasons, if you only submit a single abstract to us, your chances of being selected will be greatly reduced.

BENEFITS

Presenters at KCDC 2022 can look forward to the following benefits:

• Conference Pass: All accepted speakers receive a complimentary three-day pass to KCDC 2022, including access to the August 10 workshop day. The pass is not transferable to any other attendee.
  
  
• Lodging: KCDC will pay for two nights at the Hilton President Kansas City, our official conference hotel, which is nearby the conference venue. Speakers presenting a half-day or full-day workshop will receive coverage for a third night at the hotel. You are welcome to extend your stay for additional days at our rate.
  
  
• Speaker Dinner: All speakers are invited and encouraged to attend a VIP dinner full of awesome Kansas City BBQ—as well as quality vegetarian options—on the evening of August 8, 2022. This special event offers a great opportunity to network and visit with your peers from around the globe. Don’t miss it!
  
  
• International Speakers: The United States is open for tourism and business travelers, with the exception of certain territories that may be (or become) restricted due to periodic COVID-19 outbreaks. Foreign travelers must be fully vaccinated and be able to provide proof of vaccination status prior to boarding an airplane to the United States. Travelers should monitor the U.S. Centers for Disease Control website on international travel for the latest guidance regarding testing requirements.
  
  
• And More: All of this is in addition to KCDC's overall world-renowned speaker hospitality. We can promise you that for the duration of your stay in Kansas City, day or night, you'll have a great time and will never be bored.
