Dear Lambda Crowd, it's time to knock our committee's socks off with your proposals. 

We’re looking for passion projects, ambitious endeavours, cool ideas, eye-openers and brain teasers - all centred around inspiring, cutting-edge concepts related to functional programming. Our community is highly skilled, very inquisitive, motivated and open-minded. Think big and impress them with your talk!

This year Lambda Days celebrates its 10th-anniversary edition in Krakow, Poland. It is a three-track in-person conference. Speaking times are 45 minutes, which includes a minimum of 10-min Q&A and 35-min presentations, and 20 minutes, which includes a minimum of 5-min Q&A and 15-min presentations.

We’re also accepting talks for our Research Track - share your theoretical work with a large, diverse audience of scholars and practitioners. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to have your paper published in Computer Science (indexed in ESCI WoS and SCOPUS) journal. Just mark the correct field on the form to let us know if you are interested in having your work submitted for the journal.

RECOMMEND US OR RECOMMEND A SPEAKER

We want to make sure our conference is as diverse as the community we represent. Do you know any researchers, programmers or experts who are a part of groups traditionally underrepresented in IT (due to gender, ethnicity or any other reason) and whose work you can recommend to our committee? Please, let them know, that our CFT is open and that we’d love to see their work! Also, you can suggest their name in the form, if you want us to check them out and possibly invite them.

IMPORTANT DATES

• First selection: 11 December 2022 by 23:59 CET.
• Second Selection: 15 January 2023 by 23:59 CET. The second round in January can be cancelled if we receive enough submissions in the first round.
• You will be informed about the status of your submission by 15 February 2022.

The programme committee is also happy to help out with talk delivery, give early-stage feedback and get the speaker ready for the conference.

HOW DO WE ACCEPT TALKS?

The most important criteria for our programme committee to choose the talk is:

• topic - is your talk a good fit for our conference?
• value - will our audience learn something new from your talk?
• diversity in the agenda - have we already accepted a talk on the same subject?
• diversity in the line-up - we want to make sure we have speakers from different communities and groups.
• level - do we have the right balance when it comes to the beginner-intermediate-advance talk ratio?

If you chose the Research Track, additionally:

• scientific merit - does your work present developments in functional programming (such as novel programming languages) or scientific applications of functional programming methods?

TIPS FOR SUBMITTING

In short: clearly identify your topic, be respectful of everyone, be interesting, but also self-aware, don't pitch your company, and submit early and often. We could also add to that - think if this conference audience is the right one for your talk (and why?).
