Role of message broker in system architecture
As system complexity increase we see a shift toward asynchronous architectures. Often key component of such architecture is some kind of message broker. In this talk I will go over common uses of message broker in asynchronous systems with emphasis on best practices and common pitfalls. Topics covered include MQ, Kafka, RabbitMQ, publish-subscribe, outbox pattern etc.
How to secure Kafka cluster using OAUTH
In a world where every day more and more attention is given to security aspects inside distributed systems with Kafka broker becoming an integration technology of choice, there is a growing need to implement complex authorization and authentication security schemas on top of Kafka clusters. During this talk, I will demonstrate one such approach using OAUTH protocol. Keycloak will be used as an OIDC provider alongside Kafka Strimzi distribution.
