The Michigan .NET Users Group (MI.NET) are a group of passionate .NET Developers working in the Metro Detroit area that meet once a month to learn, network, and connect.

We meet at Epitec located at 26555 Evergreen Rd Suite 1700, Southfield, MI 48076.

Meetings are generally on the 3rd Wednesday of each month except around holidays.

Presentation Format

Presentations are up to 60-minutes.

In-Person Presentations

MI .NET is an in-person meetup. At this time, we do not offer virtual or remote speaking opportunities. Speakers must be able to present in person at the event location.

Abstract Guidelines

Provide a concise description of your presentation including details which help the group understand what to expect.

Speaker Expenses

MI .NET is a volunteer-run community event. Unfortunately, we are unable to provide speaker fees, travel reimbursement, lodging or other accommodations, meals outside of what is provided as part of the event, or reimbursement for other speaker-related expenses.

Please keep this in mind when submitting your session proposal. We greatly appreciate the time, expertise, and support our speakers contribute to the community.

Suggested Topics

Presentations should be centered around Microsoft .NET or related skills involved in using Microsoft .NET. Here are some suggestions:

  • Coding: Topics on the art of programming. Tell us about your software design patterns or introduce us new ideas.
  • Cloud: Topics on the forefront of cloud-based development and computing. 
  • Front End and Design: Any front-end development, including UI/UX design, mobile apps, JavaScript, and application frameworks. 
  • AI and Data: Topics such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), Data Science, and Big Data. 
  • Leadership and Professional Development: Topics that professionals engage with which aren't technical in nature, such as agility, soft skills, business, coaching, and leadership. 
  • DevOps and Developer Productivity: Topics around the marriage of operations and development to increase developer productivity and shorten the feedback loop. 
  • Cybersecurity, Observability, and System Administration: Topics around information security, cyber forensics, systems infrastructure, incident response, and ongoing observability of your platform.
  • Hardware, the Internet of Things, and Edge Computing: Topics surrounding the usage of specialized or single-function devices, standalone or in concert with other services, highlighting the intersection between software and the physical world. 
  • Game Development, Hacking, and Open Source: Tell us about your upcoming game release, your home-grown web browser, or even that open source project you'd like to rep!
