Music City Data User Group is Nashville's community for SQL Server and the Microsoft Data Platform. We bring together DBAs, developers, data engineers, analysts, and architects for practical, real-world sessions and a friendly local community.

We meet monthly in the Greater Nashville area (Brentwood). Whether you're a first-time speaker or a seasoned presenter, this is a welcoming stage to share what you know, sharpen a talk, and connect with Nashville's data community.

Submit a session and help us build something great. Come for the data. Stay for the community.

Music City Data User Group focuses on SQL Server and the core Microsoft Data Platform. Nashville already has dedicated communities for Power BI / Microsoft Fabric and for Azure, so our goal is to complement them — to be the home for the data topics that aren't covered elsewhere.

We're especially looking for sessions on:

SQL Server & Azure SQL

T-SQL, database design, and performance tuning

Database administration (DBA), internals, and high availability

PowerShell and automation for data professionals

Data engineering, ETL, and data architecture

Data warehousing

Career growth and community learning for data pros

Formats: ~60-minute sessions (lightning talks or longer workshops by arrangement). All levels welcome, from introductory (100) to deep-dive (400). Audience: data professionals in the Nashville area.

Power BI and Microsoft Fabric talks are a better fit for the local Power BI/Fabric group, and cloud-infrastructure topics for the Azure group — though if your session bridges into SQL Server or the data platform, we'd love to see it.

We're a free, inclusive, volunteer-run community. All speakers follow our Code of Conduct (posted on our Meetup page; questions: conduct@musiccitydata.org).
