Music City Data User Group focuses on SQL Server and the core Microsoft Data Platform. Nashville already has dedicated communities for Power BI / Microsoft Fabric and for Azure, so our goal is to complement them — to be the home for the data topics that aren't covered elsewhere.

We're especially looking for sessions on:

SQL Server & Azure SQL

T-SQL, database design, and performance tuning

Database administration (DBA), internals, and high availability

PowerShell and automation for data professionals

Data engineering, ETL, and data architecture

Data warehousing

Career growth and community learning for data pros

Formats: ~60-minute sessions (lightning talks or longer workshops by arrangement). All levels welcome, from introductory (100) to deep-dive (400). Audience: data professionals in the Nashville area.

We meet monthly at Vaco by Highspring in Brentwood, TN, and sessions are delivered in person — we're a volunteer group with no travel or speaker budget, so local and regional speakers are the best fit.

Power BI and Microsoft Fabric talks are a better fit for the local Power BI/Fabric group, and cloud-infrastructure topics for the Azure group — though if your session bridges into SQL Server or the data platform, we'd love to see it.

We review submissions on a rolling basis rather than in batches — expect to hear back within a week or two, and we'll work with you on a date that fits.
