The Academy Software Foundation (ASWF) Open Source Forum is an exclusive event for Foundation members and invited guests to share ideas, insights, and experiences to drive the future of open source software across the motion picture and media industries. 

Open Source Forum 2026 will be held on February 26 in Los Angeles for 100+ business and technical leaders. The theme of the event is “New Technologies Impacting Studios.”

While Open Source Forum is a hybrid event, all speakers must plan to present in-person. For sessions with multiple speakers, you must have at least one speaker who will be presenting in-person. All presentations will be recorded and posted publicly after the event. 

We welcome talk submissions on any topic related to open-source software and new technologies for visual effects, animation, or digital content creation.

Talks should not be sales pitches or product promotions.

Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:

  • AI and machine learning
  • Virtual production and real-time
  • New pipeline tools and technologies
  • Computer graphics and imaging 
  • Immersive films
