OpenUK’s Open Technology for Sustainability Day will build on its setting the Sustainability Agenda in Open Technology from its appointment of the first Chief Sustainability Officer to an Open Technology Organisation and its Day at COP26, to its preparation of projects on EV Charging, Data Centre and Programming languages for COP28.
This will be a free to attend day event built on a mixture of curated and cfp content. There will be a small number of sessions chosen from the cfp submissions.
Session submitters should also consider DEI as part of their submission and sessions will be marked on relevance of content to Open Technology - open source software, open hardware and open data - and of course must have relevance to Sustainability. Sustainability is broader than climate action and encompasses the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals.
Descriptions should clarify both the goals of the session and key take aways for the audience.
Speakers whose submissions are successful will be notified by 5pm on Friday 26 May.
Please note that in applying to speak at the event, you do so at your own discretion and risk, and submitting an application does not, in itself, amount to a commitment by the organisers that you will be invited to participate as a contributor. The organisers reserve the right to choose contributors completely at their own discretion.
