The OWASP Foundation invites experienced and passionate security trainers to submit their in-depth training courses for our upcoming OWASP AppSec Training Days event, taking place on November 19, 2025, in Montevideo, Uruguay.

OWASP AppSec Training Days are recognized globally for their top-notch trainers and high-quality, practical course material. This is a unique opportunity to share your expertise, contribute to the application security knowledge of our community in Uruguay, and connect with professionals eager to enhance their skills.

We are seeking training courses covering a wide spectrum of application security topics, aligning with the areas highlighted in our general Call for Papers (refer to that document for specific examples). We encourage submissions that offer hands-on learning experiences and practical takeaways for attendees.

What We Expect from Submitted Training Courses:

  • In-depth and Relevant Content: Courses should provide significant value and address current challenges and best practices in application security.
  • Practical Application: Emphasis on hands-on exercises, real-world scenarios, and actionable techniques that attendees can immediately apply.
  • Clear Learning Objectives: Well-defined learning outcomes that attendees can expect to achieve by the end of the training.
  • Comprehensive Course Material: High-quality slides, lab environments (if applicable), and supporting documentation.
  • Experienced and Engaging Trainers: Individuals with deep subject matter expertise and the ability to effectively communicate and facilitate learning.
  • Alignment with OWASP Principles: Courses should promote open security knowledge and align with OWASP methodologies and resources where appropriate.

Accepted Training Course Formats:

  • Full-Day Trainings (6-8 hours): In-depth exploration of a specific topic with significant hands-on components.
  • Half-Day Trainings (3-4 hours): Focused sessions covering specific skills or concepts with practical exercises.

Levels of Expertise:

We welcome training proposals catering to various skill levels:

  • Beginner: Foundational concepts and introductory skills in application security.
  • Intermediate: Building upon existing knowledge with more advanced techniques and practical applications.
  • Advanced: Deep dives into specialized areas, cutting-edge research, and sophisticated methodologies.

Submission Guidelines for Training Courses:

Please submit a detailed training proposal including:

  • Course Title: Clear and concise title reflecting the course content.
  • Abstract: A comprehensive overview of the course (200-400 words), including key topics covered and learning objectives.
  • Detailed Outline: A breakdown of the course modules and topics to be covered, including estimated time allocation for each section.
  • Target Audience and Prerequisites: Clearly define the intended audience and any prior knowledge or skills required.
  • Hands-on Exercises/Labs: A description of any practical exercises or lab environments included in the training. Please specify any technical requirements for attendees.
  • Trainer Biography(ies): A brief biography (50-100 words) highlighting your relevant experience and expertise.
  • Previous Training Experience: Details of any prior training experience and references if available.
  • Specify the desired duration of the training (full-day or half-day).
  • Indicate the level of expertise the training is designed for (Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced).

Submissions will be reviewed by a program committee based on relevance, technical accuracy, practical value, and trainer experience.

Trainers will be notified of the acceptance of their proposals.

Code of Conduct:

All trainers are expected to adhere to the OWASP Code of Conduct, ensuring a respectful and inclusive learning environment for all participants. Please refer to the Code of Conduct outlined in the general Call for Papers.

Terms

All trainers will be required to submit a trainer agreement. The following conditions apply to those who want to provide conference training. 


Trainer provides:

Class syllabus/training materials.

Covers travel for the instructor(s) and all course materials for students.

Promotion of training on all available media eg. Twitter, Linkedin


OWASP provides: 

Venue

Catering 

Registration logistics 

Basic wireless internet access (if you need additional technical arrangements, it is important to let us know)


Trainer profit-share:

In-person Trainers For AppSec events, I am eligible to share 40% of net revenue up to $10,000 USD and 50% of net revenues above $10,000 USD.  I will be granted a complimentary pass to the conference. I must provide appropriate taxing authority documentation as needed for final payment, such as a W-9 in the United States. I understand that I will not be reimbursed for any travel expenses such as airfare, accommodation, or any other daily expenses incurred while attending the Company’s Event for which I am a Presenter. For other events, I am eligible according to the terms in the Call for Trainers.

Should in-person or hybrid training take place, OWASP will revise training agreements for selected trainers and address compensation based on the needs of the program. 

All personal data collected during the submission process will be only for contacting submitters regarding their submission and will not be used for marketing or commercial purposes. All data collected will be deleted once the selection process is completed.
