🐍 Call for Proposals: PyCon Somalia 2025

PyCon Somalia 2025 is thrilled to invite passionate Python developers, educators, and industry experts to submit proposals for speaking engagements at our upcoming conference!


We’re looking for engaging, informative, and inspiring talks that span the wide world of Python β€” from fundamentals to frontier technologies.


🎀 Submission Guidelines

1. Presentation Formats

We welcome proposals in the following formats:

  • Technical Talks: Deep dives into Python libraries, tools, frameworks, or programming techniques.
  • Case Studies: Real-world projects and how Python played a key role including challenges and solutions.
  • Panel Discussions: Insightful group discussions on current issues or trends in Python and tech.
  • Lightning Talks: Short, high-impact presentations (5–10 mins) on focused Python topics.


2. Suggested Topics

  • Topics can include (but are not limited to):
  • Python fundamentals & advanced techniques
  • Web development (Django, Flask, FastAPI)
  • Data science, machine learning & AI
  • Automation & scripting with Python
  • Cloud, DevOps & containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Best practices & testing in Python
  • IoT, robotics, and embedded Python
  • Scientific research & computational Python
  • Python in education and academia
  • Open-source contributions & community building


3. Proposal Requirements

Please include the following in your submission:

Title of your talk

Preferred format (Technical Talk, Case Study, Panel, Lightning Talk)

Abstract (max 300 words): What will your talk cover? Who is it for? What will attendees learn?

Speaker Bio: Brief background, including your experience with Python or relevant fields


We are accepting speaker proposals on a rolling basis β€” first come, first considered. The Call for Proposals will remain open until all speaking slots are filled.

βœ”οΈ No fixed deadline β€” apply early for the best chance to be selected!

βœ”οΈ Selected speakers will be notified shortly after their proposal is reviewed.

All selected speakers will receive complimentary access to the conference.
