RailsConf is the world’s longest-running gathering for the Rails community. Since 2006, we have brought together developers and enthusiasts of all levels alongside top community voices and representatives from the world’s leading companies and startups built on Ruby and Rails.
Hosted by Ruby Central, RailsConf has played an important role in shaping the evolution of the Rails framework and fostering a strong, inclusive community that continues to innovate and grow.
After nearly 20 years, RailsConf 2025 will be the final gathering of its kind—a tribute to the legacy and future of Rails and the community members who have been part of this journey with us. As the last RailsConf, it presents a unique opportunity for speakers to leave their mark on the community.
Following RailsConf 2025, Ruby Central will shift its focus to RubyConf as our singular annual conference. The next RubyConf will take place in the spring of 2026, and every spring thereafter. We will also provide increased support for regional conferences and local events worldwide. You can read more about this transition here.
Overview
Ruby Central invites you to submit a proposal to speak at RailsConf 2025!
The conference will take place from Tuesday, July 8th to Thursday, July 10th, 2025, in Philadelphia, PA.
This is your chance to be part of RailsConf’s legacy and help shape the future of Rails development. We are looking for talks on topics ranging from technical deep dives, innovative applications of Rails, community building, and more.
We envision this event to be something that commemorates all of Ruby on Rails’ history and future. RailsConf 2025 will be an opportunity to reflect back, celebrate where we are now, and imagine the world of tomorrow.

If your proposal is not accepted, please don’t let that discourage you from submitting! We receive hundreds of submissions and there is only so much we can add into our schedule.
Selected papers will be informed by mid-March 2025.

Each accepted speaker will receive:
