Retro Data is brought to you by Andy Cutler and Justin Bird.
As organisers, it's become increasingly apparent how quickly our industry moves from one new technology to the next. While innovation is exciting, it can sometimes overshadow the timeless principles, practical frameworks and real-world experiences that underpin successful data projects. Retro Data was created to bring those conversations back to the forefront.
Following the fantastic response to our first event, we're excited to be back for our second gathering. We're looking for speakers who can share honest lessons learned, proven approaches, success stories, failures, and practical advice that attendees can take away and apply immediately. Whether your experience comes from data engineering, analytics, architecture, governance, AI, or operations, we'd love to hear from you.
Retro Data is all about creating a friendly, welcoming community where practitioners can learn from each other and have open conversations about what really works in the real world. If you have ideas, feedback or suggestions for future events, please get in touch. We want to continue shaping Retro Data with the help of the community and make it a valuable event for both speakers and attendees.
We organise attendance via Meetup: https://meetup.com/retro-data/
This event is a single track of 60 minute sessions. Provisional times are 08:30 - 17:30 BST / UTC, but will be subject to change.
Before submitting please consider that this event is not about preview features, the hype cycle, or marketing the possibilities of AI. We are looking for practical teaching, based around enduring principles, recommended practices, and battle-hardened techniques.
All speakers will be contacted whether successful or not. We expect speakers to refrain from announcing their acceptance until we have announced the agenda ourselves.
We support new speakers so please reach out and chat to us.
