5 Dec 2026

location

Calabar, Nigeria

Theme: The New Normal

Artificial intelligence is changing how we work, build products, learn new skills, and run businesses. Tech Conference Calabar 2026 brings together developers, founders, students, creators, researchers, and technology professionals to explore what these changes mean and how to respond.

Join us for learning, practical insights, and conversations about building your skills, products, and career in the AI era.

CALL FOR SPEAKERS

Help our community understand, build, and succeed in the AI era.

We invite developers, engineers, AI builders, designers, technical leaders, founders, educators, researchers, and industry practitioners to submit session proposals for Tech Conference Calabar 2026.

We are looking for practical, technical, and experience-based sessions that show how artificial intelligence is changing technology, business, education, and everyday work.

Audience levels: Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced.

TOPICS WE WANT TO EXPLORE

1. AI and Intelligent Applications

Building AI applications, AI agents, conversational assistants, retrieval-augmented generation, multimodal experiences, and workflows that solve real problems. Share how you evaluate outputs, manage costs, and move beyond a prototype.

2. Software Development in the AI Era

AI-assisted coding, testing, debugging, documentation, code review, and developer tools. Show how you use AI while maintaining code quality, security, and a clear understanding of what you ship.

3. Cloud, Infrastructure, and Scale

Cloud architecture, APIs, serverless systems, DevOps, observability, reliability, and performance. Share lessons on deploying and operating applications, including AI systems, under real constraints.

4. Security, Privacy, and Responsible AI

Application security, data protection, identity, AI vulnerabilities, bias, and responsible development. Help attendees understand how to protect users and assess the risks of AI features.

5. Data and Machine Learning

Data engineering, analytics, machine learning, model evaluation, and data quality. Explain how teams can turn data into useful insights and build systems they can measure and improve.

6. Product, Design, and User Experience

Designing AI features people can understand and use. Explore user research, accessibility, human oversight, product validation, and building for local needs, slow networks, and low-end devices.

7. Business, Startups, and Entrepreneurship

Using AI to improve operations, serve customers, validate ideas, and develop sustainable products. We welcome case studies from founders and teams with clear results and lessons others can apply.

8. Careers, Learning, and the Future of Work

How roles and skill requirements are changing. Share practical approaches to learning, portfolio building, mentoring, collaboration, and preparing students and professionals for work in the AI era.

9. Creative Technology and Digital Media

AI in filmmaking, content creation, visual design, music, and storytelling. Show your process, explain your creative decisions, and discuss quality, ownership, and responsible use.

10. Emerging Technologies and Local Impact

Web3, blockchain, robotics, IoT, and their connections with AI. We welcome practical applications in education, agriculture, healthcare, finance, and public services, particularly those addressing needs in African communities.

WHAT MAKES A STRONG PROPOSAL?

Share something you have built, tested, researched, or applied.

Your session could explore a production challenge, a useful workflow, a failed approach and what you learned, or a technical concept explained through a practical example.

Tell us:

1. What you want to share.

2. Who your session is for.

3. Why the topic matters.

4. What attendees will learn.

5. How they can apply those lessons.

For technical sessions, include implementation details, demonstrations, or examples where possible. For business, career, and creative sessions, include concrete experiences and actionable takeaways.
