There are still knowledge gaps around accessibility issues and many barriers and hurdles still exist when building and developing websites. UMBRAAD is an opportunity for Umbraco and web practitioners to get together, learn and discuss accessibility in general, find out what's happening with Umbraco accessibility and to pick up any tools and techniques that may help them improve the accessibility of their sites.

Sessions will be delivered virtually and will be recorded unless the speaker requests to opt out. Sessions will be shared on the Umbraco Community YouTube Channel.

CFPs will be anonymised and reviewed by a panel of local community members, with a few slots reserved for sponsors.

Everyone involved in the event has to read and agree with our code of conduct.

Timeline:

  • 27 February - CFP Open
  • 06 April - CFP Closes
  • 19 April - Communication of results
  • 21 May - UMRBAAD 2026

If you need any help or want to brainstorm, please connect with us on info@umbraad.com

UMBRAAD is an independent event organized by the Umbraco Accessibility Guild and other members of the Umbraco community: Danny Lancaster, Mike Masey, Rachel Breeze, Matt Begent, Harry Dance, Jonny Muir, Jeremiah Bascue, Blake Watt

We welcome sessions focus on web accessibility, ideally within the Umbraco ecosystem although it's not a requirement.

This year we are focusing on topics for Umbraco Developers, Content Editors and Sales, Marketing & C Suite professionals.

Some ideas for topics include:

  • Hiring & Inclusion in the workplace
  • Structuring your Umbraco solution for accessible content
  • Financial benefits of an accessible website
  • AI and accessible code generation
