Part of the programming for the 2023 Umbraco US Community Day includes a track of talks from community speakers.  Talks are 30 minutes in length and will take place on October 2, 2023.

The themes for this year's event are focused on the idea that it takes a village to raise a child—or more precisely that some of the most impactful and impressive technical achievements are, in fact, borne out of collaborative efforts between folks with many different backgrounds, skills, and areas of expertise.

We'd love to hear your stories about collaborations, partnerships, squads, alliances, and even friendships that led to outcomes greater than what any participant could have achieved in isolation.  Stories about everyday teamwork are welcome of course, but tales of unlikely, unconventional, or serendipitous collaborations are also highly encouraged.

Please keep in mind that Umbraco is an open-source project used primarily by web developers, designers, and content editors.  With that in mind, stories with a technical dimension to them are an ideal fit for this event, but talks need not provide deep dives into technical topics.  Stories should instead highlight the collaborative relationship itself.

Here are a few examples of different groups of folks we’d love to hear stories about.  Tell us about a time when a few of these folks came together and solved a problem, created something special, or made a positive impact:

  • Builders — Software engineers, designers, content architects, content editors
  • Connectors —Implementation specialists, external integrators, technical partners, plugin/package developers, community leaders and advocates
  • Buyers and Sellers — Customers, account managers, technical sales teams, RFP and procurement professionals
  • Innovators — Founders, solopreneurs, open source maintainers, inventors
  • Future generations — Students, mentees, apprentices, career-changers, kids

Because these stories are meant to highlight teamwork, we’d love for you to co-deliver your talk with one of your collaborators.  Due to event and time constraints, talks are only allowed a maximum of  two presenters.
