Realizing that there are important voices that need to be heard in the community, but having availability to our normal schedule can be sometimes difficult for underrepresented speakers, I wanted to introduce another way for those voices to be heard: our YouTube channel. In addition to having a space for such speakers to be heard, it also provides a great benefit for our members to see more content from people they can either relate to and/or get new perspectives.

All speakers are allowed to submit, but speakers from under-represented groups are especially encouraged. Examples are:

  • Women (including those that identify as women)
  • Racial and Ethnic Minorities
  • People with Disabilities
  • LGBTQ+ Individuals
  • Neurodivergent Individuals

New, kinda new, not-so-new, and experienced speakers are all encouraged to apply.

Speakers will submit their topics as normal (please feel free to submit multiple), which will go through a normal selection process. There will be different formats options available for the session:

  1. Have as a one-on-one talk with the organizer about a specific topic.
  2. Submit with multiple speakers to have a round table discussion with organizer.
  3. Record at home (with video requiring approval).

All lengths including Lightning Talks welcome.

Date times will be determined by speakers selected and organizer.
