The VTTA Tech Conference is a forum to hear technologists shed light on innovative skills, businesses and technologies, explore job opportunities with Vermont tech companies, and network with Vermont’s tech community.

The week-long event will focus on four themes and include a virtual job fair:

#1: Rural Tech – Challenges, Opportunities and Solutions

#2: Technology Innovation and Innovators

#3: Tech Skill Development and Education

#4: Accessibility and Social Justice in Tech

Potential speakers can be from anywhere in the world and talk selection will begin with a blind round of reviewing which will mask the identity of speakers, but final selection will give preferential treatment to those who live and/or work in Vermont (or plan to in the near future.)

Everyone involved in this event will be held to the standards set by the VTTA Code of Conduct

  • Rural Tech: Challenges, Opportunities, and Solutions
  • Technology Innovation and Innovators
  • Tech Skill Development and Education
  • Accessibility and Social Justice in Tech

There will also be job fair for folks looking for job opportunities so if YOU are hiring or looking for work, we hope you will plan to attend!

This is the inaugural year of this conference! We'll be looking for talks that address interesting topics within one of our four themes in a broad way that make them accessible to a wide audience. We are looking to our community to interpret these themes in your own way. We expect to attract attendees from across Vermont, New England, and the wider Northeast.

Potential speakers can be from anywhere in the world! Talk selection will begin with a blind round of reviewing which will mask the identify of speakers, but final selection will give preferential treatment to those who live and/or work in Vermont (or plan to in the near future.) An honorarium of $300 will be offered to every speaker. Speakers have the option to decline the honorarium and donate it back to the VTTA.

Each talk will have a 60 minute time slot for their session. Talks should be between 30-45 minutes long with the remainder of the hour reserved for Q&A. The event organizing team will provide moderators for each session to introduce speakers and moderate the Q&A portion.
