This annual conference is the third largest event that the Illinois Section- American Water Works Association (ISAWWA) hosts. Averaging 150-200 attendees, this is a prime opportunity for speakers to deliver educational presentations to a high-quality audience. The ISAWWA Water Distribution and Sewer Collection committees host this event and will review each session before selecting abstracts.


This conference will be held on September 6-7 at the NIO- Naperville Conference Center in Naperville, IL! It has traditionally been held in Addison, IL at Medinah Banquets, but we are excited for what this new venue will offer presenters, attendees, and vendors.

The Water Distribution and Sewer Collection committees are seeking abstracts that fall within the broad topics of Water Distribution & Sewer Collection systems. From operations and maintenance to technological advancements, this event can include it all. Below you will find additional specifics regarding desired topics for each day.


Water Distribution- Sept. 6

Topics can include but are not limited to: Lead Service Line Replacement, System Rehabilitation, Plant Modeling, Technology, Biofilms, PFAS, Valves, Hydraulics, Hydrants, Water Storage, Meters, ETC


Sewer Collection- Sept. 7

The theme is Best Proven I&I Reduction Strategies with a focus on identifying current best methods, their most appropriate applications, and how to develop an effective program. The committee is also seeking presentations or case studies to identify and evaluate the expected lifecycle of I & I reduction methods and strategies and plan for future maintenance cycles. 


Have an abstract that relates to total water? Submit it!

The Total Water Committee is seeking presentations or case studies related to Total Water (Potable Water, Stormwater, Wastewater) for possible inclusion on either day.
