Anshul Gupta was born and raised in Lucknow, India, with a middle-class background and high ambitions. Anshul's passion for design and animation emerged early on, as he spent his school days playing around with Adobe Creative Cloud and creating impressive animations. He even posted a video of his skills on YouTube 9 years ago, showcasing his talent to the world.

After completing his computer science engineering degree, Anshul landed a job as a quality analyst in an app development company. A week later, he requested his CTO to help him switch to the design team. CTO got him on the design team after reviewing his design portfolio. However, things didn't go as planned, and after just six months, he was fired for not providing enough value to the team.

The setback was tough on Anshul, but he didn't let it deter him. He found another job at a marketing agency and worked hard to hone his design skills. Eventually, after a year he quit & started his own design and marketing agency with a friend. During his time at the marketing agency, he introduced Figma to the team. Anshul's agency is now a thriving business with a team of 12-14 people.

In his personal life, Anshul is dedicated to his work, with design and business consuming most of his time. He spends his free exploring Figma and other design tools, and these explorations in the birth of Figmesh, a fictional animated character on Figma.

Transitioning from engineering to design and then getting fired from his first design job was a tough blow for Anshul. It shook his confidence and made him question whether he was truly cut out for design. But he refused to let the setback define him. He taught himself everything he needed to know about design through YouTube and Google, persevering through the challenges of learning on his own. Today, Anshul's agency makes six-figure revenue, and his goal is to become a design leader.

Anshul believes that talent is rare and that hard work, discipline, and dedication are the keys to success. He has learned to embrace failure as an essential part of the learning process and uses it as fuel to push himself even harder.

Looking to the future, Anshul is focused on taking his company to the next level and continuing to grow as a designer and leader in his industry.
