Scaling Startups in Africa: Blockchain, AI, and Community-Driven Growth
This session explores how startups in emerging markets like Africa can leverage blockchain, AI, and grassroots community engagement to scale sustainably. Drawing from my experience co-founding MpaMpe (a blockchain-based crowdfunding platform) and leading AI-driven climate resilience projects at Farm Zenith.
Lightning Talks: Tools & Tasks
⭐ Empowering Education with AI-Driven Digital Crowdfunding
This session explores the transformative role of digital crowdfunding in empowering communities to overcome educational and healthcare challenges. By leveraging transparent, AI & blockchain-powered platforms like MpaMpe, this talk demonstrates how tech-driven solutions enable grassroots movements and individuals to access the resources they need to thrive. In the context of the festival's motto "/imagine," we will showcase how digital innovation and AI can revolutionize community-driven fundraising, creating sustainable impact.
Through our experience in Uganda, we will discuss how AI is being integrated into our platform to enhance fundraising strategies, provide personalized campaign recommendations, and match donors to causes more effectively. The session will also explore the role of such tech solutions in shaping the future of higher education, enabling students and researchers to secure funding for their educational and research needs. Join us as we “imagine” a more inclusive and empowered future, where digital tools bridge gaps and help transform lives.
Mastering the Art of Prompt Engineering with LLMs
In this presentation, we delve into the art and science of Prompt Engineering, focusing on crafting effective inputs for Artificial Intelligence and Large Language Models (AI/LLMs). Prompt Engineering plays a crucial role in shaping the interactions and outputs of AI systems, ranging from generating creative content to solving complex problems.
Understanding RAG and Multi-Agent GenAI: A Gentle Introduction
In the rapidly evolving landscape of artificial intelligence, understanding the synergy between Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) and Multi-Agent Generative AI is crucial for developers and tech enthusiasts alike. This talk serves as a gentle introduction to these transformative technologies, demystifying their concepts and exploring their applications.
We will begin by defining RAG, a powerful approach that enhances generative models by integrating external knowledge sources. This allows AI systems to provide more accurate, contextually relevant responses, which is invaluable in applications such as chatbots, content generation, and information retrieval systems. Attendees will learn how RAG combines information retrieval with natural language generation, fundamentally improving the user experience.
Next, we will delve into Multi-Agent Generative AI, highlighting how multiple AI agents can work collaboratively to tackle complex tasks efficiently. By coordinating their efforts, these agents can enhance productivity and creativity in various applications, from collaborative content creation to dynamic problem-solving.
The session will also illustrate how RAG can be effectively integrated into multi-agent systems, showcasing real-world examples where these technologies have been employed. By the end of the talk, participants will have a foundational understanding of RAG and Multi-Agent Generative AI, along with insights into their future potential across diverse industries.
Technical & Creative Writing
Technical writing is a writing discipline that involves communicating complex information to those who need it to carry out a specific task or achieve a certain goal. Because of this, technical writing is often defined as “simplifying the complex.”
