Dana Waters is an SVP Principal Product Manager and Agile Coach within the Enterprise Change Resiliency & Sourcing Office (ECRSO) at BNY Mellon. As a seasoned People, Product, Program Manager, and an Agile Coach, she is continually sought out within her organization to lead large application, infrastructure, regulatory, as well as enterprise-level programs. Within her current role, Dana is responsible for overseeing financial and regulatory type programs, and as of January 2024, is now heading SAFe Agile Coaching within the new Platforms Operating Model which is an enterprise-wide effort in organizing work, driving priorities, and delivering business results while managing risk. “We are not changing What We Do, but How We Do It”.

Prior to this role, Dana has been a Group Manager and Program Manager within BNY Mellon, mainly within Markets Technology, leading large programs and implementing new products for Foreign Exchange, Fixed Income Equities and Derivatives, Liquidity Services, and Collateral Segregation. Dana’s other notable responsibilities have ranged from managing high visibility programs across the enterprise. She has held a number of program, product, and analytical positions within her career, starting with Mellon Financial Corporation in the early 2000’s as an analyst right out of college, and then subsequently moving into the health care industry for a brief stint, working on the Affordable Health Care program as a Sr. Business Analyst Consultant for Aetna’s “Market Place” products, before returning back to BNY Mellon in 2014.

Dana has been a member of the Women’s Initiative Network (WIN) since 2015, and Co-Chairing for the WIN “Learning and Development” committee since 2019. She has been a strong advocate in Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion, as well as creating programs for both women and men in building skill-sets, aligning goals, balancing self-promotion with authenticity, and creating a greater work-life balance. She also partakes in mentoring women each year through WIN’s Mentorship Program, and also mentors students from the University of Pittsburgh each fall semester via Dr. Good’s “Human Resources” class, which is generally attended by Seniors who are in the midst of graduating.

Dana also created and Chairs the Awards & Recognition program for the BNY Mellon’s Pittsburgh campus to boost morale, increase productivity, and elevate employee retention by recognizing the talent within the BNY Mellon Pittsburgh region.

Dana received her Bachelor of Science in “Management Information Systems” with a Minor in “Healthcare Administration”, as well as a Masters in “Communications & Information Systems”, from Robert Morris University in Pittsburgh, PA. She holds various certifications in Leadership, Coaching, as well as Agile Practices.
