Practical tips to elevate your UX and accessibility
As humans we have limitations like perception, focus, concentration, distractions, sight, you name it.
Adapting our solution to increase the accessibility isn't something we should do as an afterthought or because "someone might have a hard time seeing colors". It's something that we should incorporate from the beginning.
With a simple mindset shift to start recognizing that there is in fact a human with a brain (with all the glory and limitations) on the other end of your solution, the experience for both the users and you will increase enormously.
There are hundreds of UX-principles, laws and rules but there often isn't time or resources to study and learn all these, especially as developers.
Jessica will show a few easy steps to start to improve your UX and accessibility regardless of if you develop for desktop, web or mobile.
Presentations - it's a skill not a talent!
All over the world stepping up in front of an audience is the one thing that scares people the most.
To die, spiders and heights comes after on the list.
The interesting thing is in the words "presentation skill" meaning it's a skill that everyone can learn and profit from.
We will show you a few tricks and guidelines but most importantly the WHY behind it all. If we understand the why, it's so much easier to work on and improve our skills.
How do you keep the audience engaged? How do you avoid death by PowerPoint? and how do you overcome stage fright?
All these questions and many more will be answered during this session.
Join us to get insights and the secrets behind becoming a great speaker regardless if it's on a huge stage or a meeting room.
We have spoken around the world, trained with the best speaker trainers and have trained both new and seasoned speakers.

Practical tips to improve your UX and accessibility
In the fast-paced world of development, it can be challenging to keep up with the myriad of UX principles, laws, and rules. Yet, these principles are crucial for accommodating the various abilities and limitations inherent to the human experience, such as differences in perception, focus, and even sight.
All too often, accessibility is treated as an afterthought in the development process. Yet, it should be a primary consideration, not simply because "someone might have a hard time seeing colors," but because an accessible solution is inherently more user-friendly.
Jessica will guide you through a series of common accessibility issues and UX shortcomings, providing step-by-step instructions on how to avoid and remedy these challenges. This isn't about mastering hundreds of principles; instead, it's about understanding and implementing practical strategies that will have a significant impact on your users' experience.
With a slight shift in perspective—acknowledging the human user, with all their strengths and limitations at the other end of your product—you'll notice a significant enhancement to the user experience, and subsequently, your development process.
will outline a few simple steps to begin improving your UX and accessibility. This practical guidance is applicable regardless of your development platform—desktop, web, or mobile. By integrating accessibility from the onset, you are not only creating a more inclusive environment but also improving the overall user experience—a win-win for all.
