James Kelley is a Data Analyst with the Institute for Health Innovations, Data Science and Research at the University of Texas. He holds degrees in Computer Science and Environmental Science and brings more than Twenty years of experience as an Epidemiologist with the Mississippi State Department of Health in cancer, lead, and genetic programs. Also, as a Data Analyst and Applied Researcher for Jackson State University where he began using AI with Crime Analysis. His expertise includes scientific and applied research, data management, data analytics, GIS, and remote sensing. He has collaborated on projects involving NASA, CDC, NOAA, NIH, and the Jackson Heart Study. As a member of the inaugural Data and AI Intensive Research with Rigor and Reproducibility (DAIR3) cohort through the University of Michigan. He plans to bring knowledge and skills learned from Mississippi’s Statewide Initiative to assist with AI innovation in Texas
