Strategic Plans Won't Save You, But Planning Might
Every organization faces a fundamental challenge: the relentless cycle of reacting to problems vs investing the time needed to prevent them. Strategic planning is supposed to help, but let’s be honest: most strategic plans end up collecting dust.
In this engaging and insightful keynote, we’ll learn how to break that cycle of running from problem to problem without making progress year after year. You’ll learn why planning — not just a plan — is the real key to long-term success. Using real-world examples, humor, and practical insights, we’ll explore:
-Why every organization pays the “cost of organization” upfront in planning or later in cleanup—and why planning is always the better investment.
-The difference between being stuck in reactive mode vs leading with strategy.
-A practical model for balancing strategy, people, operations, and leadership to drive sustainable results.
-How to shift from constantly putting out fires to solving the right problems at the right time—with the least effort.
-The secret to making strategic planning a habit, not just a one-time event.
By the end, you’ll walk away with a new mindset, actionable tools, and a commitment to stop reacting and start planning. Because just like in life, small, consistent steps prevent disasters down the road.
The Power of Shared Ownership: 4 Steps to Align Teams for Lasting Success
The Power of Shared Ownership: Aligning Teams for Lasting Success
No single person carries the full weight of a team’s success—or failure. Every member holds a piece of the puzzle, but without coordination a team will lose focus, momentum, and productivity.
In this dynamic and engaging keynote, Jason Roberts explores the critical principle of shared ownership — how the most successful organizations harness it (often without realizing it) and why those that struggle often fail to embrace it. These four easy to implement steps will provide attendees with powerful insights into fostering alignment, improving collaboration, and driving sustained success through intentional teamwork.
A key to effective leadership is knowing when you have authority and when you are an advisor. Strong leaders understand that their role shifts depending on the situation—sometimes they need to make decisive calls, and other times, their greatest impact comes from guiding, influencing, and empowering others. Organizations that master this balance create teams that move faster, make better decisions, and consistently achieve stronger outcomes.
Ideal for leaders, executives, and decision-makers who want to build stronger teams, drive better outcomes, and make faster, more effective decisions.
This session can be a 60 min keynote style presentation, or a 90 min breakout session with activities and a workbook.
