Is it Cheating? The Real Role of AI in Coalition Work
Artificial intelligence can feel like the elephant in the room. Some see it as innovation; others question whether it belongs in coalition work at all. This session addresses that tension directly by exploring the real role AI can play in strengthening coalition efforts.
Using real examples from prevention and community collaboration, participants will see how AI can support planning, communication, data translation, partner engagement, and presentation development. The session will also emphasize how to use AI in ways that strengthen—rather than replace—human relationships, judgment, and community voice.
Attendees will experience AI in action during the session and explore how it can be used in real time to support everyday coalition tasks. Participants will leave with practical strategies they can apply right away.
SPARKS: Igniting Strengths, Leadership, and Possibility
Every young person has a SPARK—a skill, quality, interest, or passion that gives them energy and helps them see what they can contribute to the world. However, young people do not always have the language, opportunities, or encouragement needed to recognize and develop it. SPARKS is an interactive youth-development experience designed to help participants uncover what lights them up, connect with others who share their interests, and explore how their strengths can support healthy choices, personal growth, and future success.
In this session, participants will step inside the SPARKS experience and discover how intentional activities, supportive facilitation, and moments of genuine connection can help young people see themselves differently. Together, we will explore how to create spaces where youth feel comfortable taking chances, sharing their ideas, recognizing their strengths, and imagining what may be possible for them. Participants will leave inspired to build experiences that help young people feel seen, valued, and ready to take their next step.
