Katie Butler is an associate in the Denver office of Lewis Brisbois Bisgaard & Smith LLP. Her legal practice focuses on privacy and data security, helping companies build strong compliance programs and deal with what happens when they experience a data security incident. She takes a proactive approach to data privacy and security by counseling her clients to build and maintain privacy regulation compliance programs and incorporate privacy-by-design into new technologies. She coordinates with her clients to map the flow of their data and develop incident response plans. She assists with the development of privacy policies, terms of use, data privacy addenda, and other contract terms to support her clients’ privacy efforts. She also responds to data security incidents. She has extensive experience working with tech companies. She holds the Certified Information Privacy Professional/United States (CIPP/US) and Certified Information Privacy Professional/Europe (CIPP/E) credentials.
