Kavita Ayyagari is HDI’s Country Director in India and brings 19 years of rich experience in the field of Public Health Advocacy, Marketing & Partnerships and Program Management to that role. She is the India Team Lead for Game of Choice, Not Chance™ , an initiative creating a mobile game designed to empower girls to make informed choices, develop strong voices, and shape their future with confidence. Prior to joining HDI, Kavita has led innovative private-sector partnerships for Pathfinder International and Abt Associates on adolescent health and family planning. She has worked with the International Union against tuberculosis and lung disease on increasing political will and mobilizing resources for TB and at Save The Children, Kavita addressed newborn child survival and applied her expertise at the World Bank, regarding sanitation and hygiene challenges. Kavita holds a Master’s Degree in Economics and a Post Graduate diploma in Mass Communications and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. at JNU in the Department of Community Health & Social Medicine.
