Mariam Halfhide is a Data & AI Strategist working at the intersection of AI governance, organizational transformation, and leadership. With a background in econometrics and data science, she helps organizations navigate not only what AI makes possible, but what it takes to adopt and govern it responsibly.

Her work increasingly centers on three questions: What does it mean to truly be in control of AI? How do we rethink change as AI demands faster shifts in organizations and mindsets? And how do we develop leaders for the AI era? Underneath these questions is a broader interest in human development: as our capabilities grow through AI, how do we ensure that we continue to develop ourselves? Essentially, who do we want to be when we use, build and interact with AI?

Mariam approaches responsible AI as a system rather than a standalone governance challenge. Technology, governance, culture, leadership and human development all shape whether AI creates sustainable value. Rather than focusing solely on AI's risks, she is particularly interested in the fragilities that new technologies expose in our organizations and society, and what addressing them can teach us about building a future in which technology strengthens rather than undermines the values we want to preserve.
