Logs in observability - Correlation
Explore how system logs can unlock actionable insights in this session. We'll discuss daily log volumes in modern infrastructures, the impact of descriptive logging, and how to create meaningful stories through context and correlations. Discover the power of automation and K-Means clustering to uncover hidden patterns, drive faster issue resolution, and predict failures. With real-world experiments and practical tips, you'll see how logs can transform operations and provide a strategic edge for your business.
Critical Thinking and Logical Fallacies
Presentation explores various logical fallacies that often arise in discussions and debates. It aims to enhance critical thinking and discussion skills by identifying and understanding these fallacies. The presentation covers common fallacies such as attacking the person instead of the argument, misrepresenting someone's argument, presenting only two options when more exist, and arguing that one small step will inevitably lead to a chain of related events. Additionally, it provides tools and workshops to help participants recognize and address these fallacies in real-time, fostering a culture of logical and respectful argumentation.
Duration 45 minutes, audience - open, no restrictions, suggested to all team=workers on individual contributor to senior leader level.
Data binning
The session explains discretization by grouping continuous data into intervals (binning) in order to simplify the data, reduce noise, and improve algorithm performance. The value of binning lies in the fact that an application can efficiently predict user needs or avoid overloads. The value of the session is a few additional design tools for optimizing solutions operating on large data volumes.
The session takes about 40 minutes and goes through types of binning, explaining variance and deep dives into binning evaluation metrics. Binning is one of the fundametal tools for big data analysis. During the session, Visual Studio will be used to show some code and how it works.
