What we're about

Birmingham Microsoft Data Platform Group - Bringing the West Midlands Microsoft Data Platform Community together.

What?

A virtual (and possibly in-person, so please leave a note if you're willing to come to Birmingham!)  meeting held on the first Thursday of every month @ 1pm GMT/BST. It's a free-to-attend, informal gathering of like-minded people, with 1-2 speakers presenting hour-long sessions including tips, techniques, and information on old, new, and upcoming technology.

The event is kindly sponsored by Purple Frog Systems, Power BI Sentinel, and RP Analytics.

All of our meetings are currently held virtually on Microsoft Teams.

All speakers welcome, whether you've presented here before or not.

All Data Platform orientated sessions welcome, including:

  • Azure / Synapse
  • SQL Server
  • Power BI / DAX
  • Data Warehousing
  • Machine Learning
  • ...other areas welcome

Sessions are an hour(ish) long and are made up of 5-10 introduction from our hosts followed by your 50-60 minute session.

Sessions are held on MS Teams and we ask you join 15 minutes early to get slides set up and ensure there are not tech issues.

Our audience is usually somewhere between 50-100 attendees.

This group runs on the first Thursday of every month, please include in the notes which dates you are submitting for. We try and vary the theme month to month so for example, if last month was a Power BI session, we will try and avoid another Power BI one this month,
