Richard is Developer Advocate at Axual.
He enjoys helping people to understand how event streaming works, but also loves developing software.
Originally trained as an embedded systems developer with a focus on integrations he quickly moved into the general technical software engineering and integration field.
He's worked on systems like the ground stations for the Galileo satellites, public transport information systems and business process automation for insurance companies before joining the streaming world at Axual.
He's been an architect, tech lead and trainer at Axual for several years before starting his current role as Developer Advocate.
In his free time you can often find him and his camera at airshows or airports.

Hij vind het leuk om mensen te helpen om event streaming te begrijpen, maar ook om software te ontwikkelen.
Oorspronkelijk was hij opgeleid tot embedded software engineer met een voorkeur voor integratie, maar hij is al snel naar de technische software engineering en integratie overgestapt.
Hij heeft aan verschillende soorten projecten gewerkt, zoals de grondstations voor de Galileo satellieten, OV Voertuig informatie systemen en business process management automatisering voordat hij bij Axual de event streaming wereld binnen kwam.
Bij Axual is hij actief geweest als ontwikkelaar, architect, tech lead en trainer en nu als Developer Advocate.
In zijn vrije tijd kan je hem en zijn fotocamera vaak vinden bij vliegshows of gewoon bij vliegvelden.
