My first professional (paid) software project was in 1978 as a sophomore in college. Nearing graduation with a degree in classical Greek, I realized that computer software was already paying the bills. Since then, I have been programming for employers and consulting customers, managing programmers, selling programming tools, managing a programming consultancy, etc. ad inifinitum, ad nauseum. For the last 6 years, I have managed a remote, agile and highly-talented software development team for a national retailer in the outdoor recreation segment.
