Flutter has come a long way making cross-platform development truly accessible but there are still some areas that Flutter and Dart struggle to handle, and that’s where dart FFI with Rust comes in. Recently, while looking for a mermaid diagram rendering in Flutter, after not finding any good Flutter libs, I used Flutter-Rust bridge that allowed me to achieve what I wanted and results were astounding. This allowed me to do some amazing things.
This talk explores using Rust to enhance Flutter’s cross-platform support. It can not only improve computational times for heavier tasks but also give access to low-level apis that allows better integration with the platform.
We’ll explore how dart FFI makes the Flutter-Rust bridge possible, and understand how Flutter and Rust communicate. You’ll learn to create ur own Flutter-Rust lib while learning from real world use cases. You’ll definitely leave this talk being curious about Rust and understanding when, why and how to use Rust in Flutter.

Fragment Shaders In Flutter: A whole new World
Fragment shaders in Flutter expand the horizon of building custom UIs and animations. They go beyond your day-to-day custom painters and render objects to help you create truly custom graphics and special effects for your Flutter apps and games.
With control over every pixel on the screen, you can manipulate your app graphics in a variety of ways to create effects and animations that would otherwise be impossible to do without shaders like real-time image filters seen within Instagram/Snapchat or custom blur, pixellation or even custom navigation transitions for your apps and games.
We'll also explore how Shaders sit at the pinnacle of graphics and how the Flutter engine uses Fragment shaders under the hood for rendering the pixels on the screen. And go into different techniques and tools combined with Custom painting, render objects and more to use Fragment shaders in your Flutter apps and games to create unique digital experiences.
Create Beautiful Audio Waveforms in Flutter
We'll learn to visualize audio in Flutter by creating audio waveforms. We'll talk about how audio is constructed and how we can get the waveforms data through audio. And later go through using that data to visualize audio in Flutter in some really interesting ways.
This session is inspired by the package that I created called "Flutter Audio Waveforms" which helps you achieve these visualizations easily and also includes some interesting customization options.
