Wajdi Ben Saad is an AI expert, data science practitioner and Accredited European Statistician working at the intersection of generative AI, agentic systems, small language models, machine learning, NLP and applied analytics.

His work focuses on the next generation of practical AI systems: assistants, search agents, RAG systems, specialized classifiers and evaluation pipelines that are not only powerful, but also efficient, measurable and deployable in real-world environments. He is particularly interested in the future of artificial intelligence beyond “bigger models only”: efficient AI, local and small language models, cost-aware architectures, human-in-the-loop systems, abstention, evaluation and the question of when AI systems should act, answer or refuse.

Wajdi has presented work on search agents, RAG, abstention and Open Banking text classification, including at the Paris Machine Learning Meetup and academic events. He also teaches data visualization and develops GoldenViz, a Python library for checking chart quality against practical visualization rules.

His talks combine AI engineering, statistical thinking and field experience, with a focus on helping audiences understand how GenAI and agents can move from impressive prototypes to reliable, efficient and useful systems.

Son travail porte sur la transformation des prototypes IA en systèmes réellement utiles, fiables et mesurables : assistants GenAI, architectures RAG, agents de recherche, modèles spécialisés, mécanismes d’abstention, évaluation de la qualité des réponses, gouvernance et maîtrise des coûts. Il s’intéresse particulièrement aux enjeux actuels de l’IA en entreprise : sortir des démonstrations impressionnantes, réduire les hallucinations, décider quand une IA doit répondre ou non, et construire des architectures efficaces, robustes et adaptées aux contraintes terrain.

Wajdi intervient régulièrement sur des sujets liés à l’IA appliquée, à la classification de textes, à l’open banking, à la data visualisation et à l’évaluation des systèmes intelligents. Il enseigne également la data visualisation et a développé "GoldenViz", une librairie Python dédiée à l’évaluation de la qualité des data viz sous Python.
