I'm Abhishek Bhardwaj, a Software Engineer with over 12 years of experience in Operating Systems, Infra and AI Engineering.
I'm currently the solo founder of Arrakis, building secure MicroVM-based sandboxes for code execution and computer use by AI agents. Arrakis has first class support for backtracking built in.
Previously, I worked on Operating Systems on the Chrome OS team at Google for 8+ years. Our team invented lightweight VMs called "MicroVMs and used Linux containers to run all of Android on top of ChromeOS ("Project Arc").
After that I worked on infra and AI code chat at Replit.
At Microsoft, I worked on a 0-1 OS for a smartwatch and Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL).
I'm passionate about building secure and scalable infrastructure for AI Agents.
Arrakis: How To Build An AI Sandbox From Scratch
Arrakis (https://github.com/abshkbh/arrakis) provides MicroVM-based secure sandboxes for code execution and full computer use. It features first-class support for backtracking, a Python SDK, and a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server.
In this talk, we go under the hood to explore how to architect an AI sandbox from the ground up. We’ll also dive into why sandboxes are becoming essential infrastructure for AI models and agents — enabling the next big unlock in intelligence.
